Willem De Kooning - Artist Number 3

I came across the work of De Kooning and was instantly drawn to the series of 'Woman' paintings that he has created. The shape of the female figure is taken to the extreme with out of proportion body parts, huge eyes and often, a strange grin on the face. These paintings gave me ideas on figure form and gave me a better understanding of how figures can be placed in an abstract setting while still maintaining the features of a female.
