recently I have been in the studio developing upon a couple of my paintings. The two paintings in this post respectively have contrasting backgrounds to the forgrounds, going from pale and brightly coloured to dark, gloomy and spooky. I wanted to get away from the spookyness of the pictures and develop them into something more. I have been looking at cherry blossons lately through Van Gogh and through this,I gained th inspiration to encorporate these into my paintings, which i think fits well with the context of family in relation to flowers. The simple but thick brush strokes mimic that of the way Monet paints.
