Over the past week, I had began to create a large scale acrylic painting on white paper. The image is of a deep purple rose and perfectly shows the darker side of the painting. As for the background, i stook with the primary colours of Monet's work: Blue, green and purple. The background of the painting appears pale and pastel compared to the main picture of the rose. This is a good contrast of the emotions this painting can convey. Also, I decided to paint the background after i painted the rose, leading into a different technique i have never tested before. This was an experiment to see what the outcome would be and how it would effect the overall painting in the end. I am proud of this piece and i consider it to be one of my favourites at the moment.
