Today was the art crit for Catherine, Tori and Lauren and they all brought in many pieces if work for us to view, which made it a benificial and interesting oppertunity to learn all about their ideas.
Catherine focuses a lot on the primary colours of the spectrum, used along side simple shapes. The overall look of Catherines work gives off a De Stijl feeling, and I have enjoyed getting to know her work.
Tori is focusing mainly on the pop art of Andy Warhols 'Marilyn', finding different ways of re-creating the iconic art piece using a range of circular things, like beads and wooden pannels. Its very interesting to see her different variations of the one piece of art and I found it similar to the way I am working at the moment; recreating someone elses art.
Laurens work seems abstract and well thought about. She seems to be mixing a lot of her ideas into her work and it is very interesting to see her ideas shown through colour and materials.
