The way I have been creating and experimenting with the backgrounds of the waterlillies has made me realise that im not really focusing on impressionism any more, but rather something that I have never experimented with before, or even been remotely interested in. My designs and paintings have turned into a Jackson Pollock type of art, dropping colour onto a canvas and seeing where it ends up as a finished product. I like the way he creates texture with his paintings and I would like to encorporate that more into my art. I can see that investigating and experimenting with the way that Pollock works would be a great way to enlarge my knowledge of art itself and give me a way to improve my methodology. I would like to start creating more paintings inspired by Pollock and maybe this will be a good starting point into contrasting and morphing two different art styles together so I can create something new.
