Experimenting

The past week has been full of what I could only describe as experimenting. I have painted and sketched the backgrounds of Monet's Lilly pads so many times, I wondered what I could do to improve. I have made collages out of the backgrounds, I have made small backgrounds and large backgrounds. I have dropped and splattered paint around my studio space floor to discover what pattern it would make and how well it would imitate the watery background. I have printed the watery splatters onto paper to see what pattern they come up with. Through out doing all of this, I have realised that some of my work may resemble the art of Jackson Pollock, and the abstract expressionism combined with the impressionism is something that I could focus and experiment on in the future.
