Ive been focusing a lot on Monet lately and the way he works. Ive realised that copying artists work isnt that wrong; it helps witht he learning process and enables me to get into the way the artist works. Monet's Pink Water Lillies is the painting that ive been drawn to the most as I seem more familiar with this one than the others. Ive taken the image of the water lillies and deconstructed it. I've painted each lilly pad in the picture as a seperate painting, giving my own take on the way he paints. Soemtime soon im going to start focusing on the watery background of his paintings and give my own take on them too.
